About the Visual Arts Center

The Visual Arts Center (VAC) organizes and presents a variety of regional, national and international visual art exhibitions and organizes the Visiting Artist and Scholar Program (VASP). The VAC is comprised of two campus galleries and exhibits the work of students and faculty as well as juried exhibitions and solo shows. With eight to ten exhibitions annually, the gallery serves as the Art Department’s most visible form of university and community outreach.

Visual Arts Center Hours


The Visual Arts Center is open during the regular academic year, late August to mid May.

Please check home page for current show dates and future exhibition page for upcoming dates.

Monday-Friday 10am to 5pm

Saturday 12-4pm

Closed Sundays, university holidays, and during exhibition installations.

Admission is free.


Visual Arts Center Location


The Visual Arts Center galleries are located in two adjacent buildings on the BSU campus. Gallery One is located in the Liberal Arts Building (room 170) and Gallery Two is located in the adjacent Hemingway Western Studies Center (room 110). Parking is available during regular gallery hours in the Visitor Parking lot in front of the Liberal Arts and Administration Buildings. Questions?
